More or less human: the image of different migrant groups in Tenerife
AUTHORS
Daniel Buraschi, Maryurena Lorenzo, María Dolores Morera, Naira Delgado.
DESCRIPTION
The dehumanisation of migrants, the perceptual process through which a person or group is stripped of their human characteristics, can have very negative consequences on intercultural coexistence. This document presents some preliminary findings on the differences in the perception of the humanity, threat and empathy of four groups that are particularly prominent for demographic or media reasons: Moroccan, Ukrainian, Senegalese and Venezuelan.
